Personal Reflections and Artistic Expressions
This course uses journaling, bookmaking, and a visual art project (casting, collage, painting,) as a means of uncovering, reflecting on and expressing personal opinions on various topics. The outcome of the program is personal exploration and discovery, as well as growth and expression of self.

Connecting With Community
The main outcome of this program includes establishing meaningful and relevant connections between groups of various individuals for the purpose of creating a bond of understanding and respect between them using artistic expression as a means of communication. The structure of this course includes a forum for sharing and discussion of relevant information followed by the creation and sharing of literary and/or artistic expressions of understanding.

The Book Is You
This program combines writing (character/historical, poetry, memoirs, or short stories) with bookmaking for the purpose of creating a personal treasure or gift through the ancient art of bookmaking, while learning writing skills from professional writers. The aim focuses on educational and personal goals.

Crisis & Creativity
Creative nonfiction workshop participants will learn techniques for structuring narratives about their own or others' life or health crises. The workshop will focus on showing how crisis results in a heightened awareness of ourselves in relation to mortality, often stimulating the writing process. In the final step, students will create a hand made book, termed a “dos-a-dos” book, which will hold the students’ personal two-part chronicle of crisis and reconstruction and give testimony to a life-changing event in a beautiful and concrete way.

Murals For Education
This program pairs working artists with teachers and students to create personalized murals in schools (and other venues) for the purposes of education and the growth of self-esteem. Topics may include, but are not limited to, themes in Science, Social Studies, Math, Reading, Literacy, Cultural Expression/Pride, Self Expression, Artistic movements/genres, Music, Dance. The forum for this includes a planning session, art lessons, execution of plan, mentoring, and presentation to public or school. The focus of the murals is educational in message.

Art and History
This program combines the learning of history through artistic expression, artists and art movements. Students can learn about history through the creation of authentic art pieces from a particular era, by understanding the art that was created during the era, and by looking at the connections between art, economy and politics during a particular era.
Example: Photography and the Civil War, Folk Art and The Revolutionary War, Keith Herring/Graffiti and AIDS awareness, Medieval Times and Guilds, Reformation, Religion and Renaissance through Art, etc.

Celebrating Authentic Voices Through Memoir (for Secondary students)
Our cultural differences provide us with a wealth of writing topics
that beg to be explored. In this workshop, students will delve into the
significance of their ethnic and cultural identities and express their
experiences through personal narratives. This workshop is appropriate for students who view their life experiences as unique because of their nationality, gender, religion, cultural contexts, etc. Students will learn the
skills necessary to discovering their own "voice" as writers, then be
