Giving Back to the Community

In the time we've been open, here are some of the ways The Art School has given back to the community:

 

  • Donated artwork to Homer Brink PTO Fundraiser, Endwell, NY. ('08)
  • Donated artwork to Vestal School Foundation, Vestal, NY. ('08)
  • Donated art services for a mural at The Story Garden, The Discovery Center in Binghamton, NY.. (The Three Bear's House!) ('08)
  • Donated artwork to May 2007 WSKG auction.
  • Worked with A Room To Heal to paint a mural for Macey King. The organization offers room-makeovers for children diagnosed with cancer

  • Hosted African Road Elementary's Odyssey of the Mind team at our Vestal Campus

  • Donated gift certificates for free art classes to the WSKG Art Auction to take place this March.

  • Offered FREE art/music/dance/cooking domonstartions most months, either at Broome West Senior Center or at our Vestal Campus.

  • Provided judges for the NYS sponsored Reflections Art contest at Chenango Forks High School (in the areas of visual art. writing, and music) in December.

  • Provided judges for the Mask Contest for the Katrina Mardi Gras effort sponsored in part by BAM (Binghamton Area Musicians) in October.

  • Gave free cooking and art demonstrations on separate occasions to Monday Moms.(October/November)

  • Donated an elaborately carved pumpkin by sculptor Matthew Flesher to St.Vincent's CYO raffle.(October)

  • Gave private classes (art and cooking)at a reduced rate to Mothers & More group(November).

  • Donated a gift certificate for a non-profit organization's raffle (November).

  • Donated an art basket for a raffle supporting a dance group.

  • Offered free advertising to a worthy client who needed some help. (Oct., Nov., Dec)

  • Donated to the S.O.S. Shelter Art Auction (Feb.)

  • Provided judges for the New York State Foundation Of Women's Club 6th District Art Contest (Feb.)

  • Donated a gift certificate to Trout Unlimited's annual fundraiser

  • Held a fundraiser for flooded artists

  • Held a fundraiser for Albert White

  • Contributed money to the Flesher Family Foundation

  • Designed t-shirts for the American breast Cancer Walk

  • Designed t-shirts for World AIDS Day

  • Created and donated artwork to STAP to support local families who are dealing with the medical bills associated with HIV and AIDS
